BOARDING
All Boarding is by reservation only. Make your reservations as far in advance as possible. Holidays and weekends fill up quickly. Please call us for available dates at (808) 572-7717.
The following are things you need to know prior to your dog's first stay:
Dogs can be dropped off anytime within our office hours. However, we suggest you drop off your dog(s) as early as possible so they have time to play. We are closed to customers on all major holidays.
- An evaluation day is required prior to the first boarding stay. We will do an assessment of your dog and tell you whether or not Ohana Pet is a good fit for them.
- All dogs must have current vaccination records on file with us. This includes DHPP and Leptospirosis as per your veterinarian's recommendation.
- All dogs over the age of six months must be spayed or neutered.
- Dogs are required to be on flea prevention such as Vectra 3D, Sentinel, Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution. Tick prevention is highly recommended.
- All dogs must wear a nylon or leather collar with a name tag and license tag already attached. If you do not have a name tag or collar, one will be provided for your dog at your expense. Choke chains, shock collars, and pinch collars are not allowed as they present a hazard to dogs while in playgroup (and we don't like them or allow them). If you have one of these, please talk to us about an alternative. Harnesses get caught on fences, and large dogs like to use them as "handles," so please take them off on arrival. Please take your leash home with you.
- BOARDING DOGS:
- Dogs play outside generally from 7:00 am to 6pm. Playtime varies when there is inclement weather and at our discretion. Dogs are also given naps accordingly. Rest is extremely important to dogs physically and behaviorally.
- Mealtime is twice per day, unless your dogs is a puppy or requires more (certain small breed or for medical reasons). You are required to bring your dog's own food.
- We give medication to your dog at no extra charge. All medication must come in a clearly marked container (preferably the original container). With the following information:
- Dog's Name
- Name of Medication and strength
- Dosage per day or if needed (let us know at drop off what doses have already been given that day) - - Reason for medication
- LABEL EVERYTHING you bring for your dog with his/her name on it. We are not responsible for any items lost or destroyed.
- Beds are welcome, but not necessary (every dog gets clean blankets). If you do bring a bed, please let us know if you do not want it washed. We do our best to send bedding home clean.
- Please don't bring towels or dinner bowls.
- Toys are welcome but will not go to playgroup with your dog(s).
- When your dog arrives, please come to the front door and not through the yard. We ask that you let us know when you are arriving so that we can plan and have a peaceful arrival. Approaching a fenced yard-full of excited dogs can cause one or more of them to turn on a playmate for your attention. Please help us and them by respecting our rules and ensuring your children keep a safe distance as well.
- CANCELLATION POLICY - We require 24 hours notice for cancellation of non-holiday reservations and 72 hours notice of cancellation for holiday reservations. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years reservations require seven days notice. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years reservations require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time the reservation is made. Otherwise, the fee for canceling without proper notice is $50.
PHOTO SHOOT
- Individual photo shoots are $75. Your dog must be scheduled for dayplay or boarding. The photo charges are in addition to Ohana Pet's regular dayplay or boarding charges. An additional $25 for each additional dog included in the same photo shoot. You will be given a disc of your dog's pictures. For an additional fee, we can provide prints.
