What Others Are Saying...
We adopted what is commonly called a "bad dog". We knew it from the beginning as I stared at my bloody hand, the only problem was that as bad as he was...he was just as charming. We named him Chompers and decided that maybe he would get better....he didn't. We brought in Lisa Giesick and so many things changed. Chompers changed but we changed as well. Lisa helped me understand what was going on in his precious doggie mind as well as what role I was playing in our little drama. Chompers is now called Chuy and he no longer bites anyone and I no longer cater to his neurosis. Lisa gave us hope and we grabbed that rope and swung. She is amazing.

Lisa was such a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed both of the training classes and the private training we participated in with our Makana boy who we adopted when he was 6 months old. Lisa has a great sense of humor, is very enthusiastic and speaks a dog's language. We enjoyed the training just as much as Makana. The socialization with the other dogs was priceless. The techniques that were taught were very user friendly making it easy to incorporate into our daily routine. Makana's sister, Lehua, also benefited from Makana's training because she now has a better behaved brother. We highly recommend Lisa and are grateful to have her as a resource! Mahalo Lisa.

Bonnie, our young border collie/lab cross was a real handful. She'd been the dominant pup and felt she was in charge of our lives and everything around her. Things were looking grim, but Lisa worked with Bonnie and worked with us, and we now have a happy and obedient family member. Thanks, Lisa!

I am writing on behalf of Lisa Giesick and Ohana Pet. Frankly, I cannot express enough praises for Lisa and her training abilities. Lisa has trained our two very active Australian Labradoodles Mikaylah and Zara. Their training began when they were about one year old and wild :). They have recently turned two years old, and thanks to Lisa's training, they have settled down. Not only does Lisa take a positive training approach, but she is very loving and kind. Her training techniques are simple to follow, and most importantly they achieve results! Lisa will come to your home for training. In our case, that was where most of our training concerns needed to be addressed. Lisa also offers limited boarding at her home, and we are tremendously grateful when she can watch Mikaylah and Zara. Our girls are like our children, and there is no one else on Maui that we would trust them with. We highly recommend Lisa and Ohana Pet... what a blessing!

Lisa, the "Maui Dog Whisperer" did a fantastic job with Peabo, our 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier. It was great seeing and learning Lisa's methods while working with our puppy. We learned how to manage Peabo better, and everyone says Peabo is going to turn out to be an awesome dog, due in part to Lisa's experience and patient teaching techniques. We highly recommend Lisa to everyone.

Puppy Kindergarten Students...
Murphy was the first of my dogs that has been to school so early in the process. How easy it has made everything from here on out. Because Murphy puppy had been to school, and exposed to training, it was so much easier to incorporate the training into our day to day: meal time, going out the front door, even having a treat are all a game/training. Starting out so young, it became part our lives, not something we do in addition. Simple! Puppy kindergarten also helped socialize Murphy. The end result, I am comfortable taking the puppy into any situation, knowing that a- he is socialized, b- is trained, and has the relationship with me as part of our training, to be able to manage any situation with any persons or other dogs.
I highly recommend puppy kindergarten. It enhances your life with your dog, and makes the puppy and adult years so much more enjoyable.

Before our puppy Cody attended puppy kindergarten at 16 weeks of age, his social interactions had been isolated to experiences with his littermates, his parents, his breeder's family, my husband and me and our family.
Puppy kindergarten was an invaluable opportunity for Cody to broaden his interactive experiences, as it provided a safe environment that enabled him to adjust, most positively, to a more "global" mix of other dogs and people. Under the guidance and modeling of a certified pet trainer, the dogs' owners learned how to foster appropriate behaviors, basic obedience commands and a dog's natural curiosity and intelligence.
My husband and I believe that Cody's smooth and successful transition into the larger arena of society is directly related to the positive socialization exposures in his puppy kindergarten class.

When we adopted our first large breed puppy we were concerned that as she got older and bigger she would inevitably become harder to control. A family member recommended puppy kindergarten to us.
The socialization and skills Madeline learned before 6 months of age have been the building blocks to her great behavior. With puppy kindergarten Madeline has achieved amazing results, completing her AKC Canine Good Citizen Award and qualifying as a Therapy Dog for local hospitals before the age of 1.
Now at 2 years old and over 80lbs she is a joy and we know that without puppy kindergarten it would not have been possible.

Our dog was very hyper as a puppy. She is an American Eskimo, very pretty, but she was too much to take, we had too little control over her. Then we went to Puppy Kindergarten lead by Lisa Giesick, and our lives changed. How Lisa does her magic on dogs, I do not quite know, but we were taught so much about dogs and our little Molly went from hyper to a very happy little dog that we could control. Molly is 4 this November and she is a delight. She is kind and clever towards everybody, and get along just fine with dog all sizes!
We will highly recommend all to take puppy classes. It is worth the money and time. We will always be grateful to Lisa!
